Description
Most of the forenoon of Aug
19 was spent sightseeing
in and around Madison-
Visited the State House and got
a birdseye view from its
roof. Visited the campus of
the University of Wisconsin and
drove up and down its streets and
around its fine buildings.
Left by a road that gave
glimses of Lake
North of city. The Lake we camped
beside is South of city.
The country we travelled thru
enroute to Kilbourne City was
similar to our home section
of Ohio, except as we neared
Devils Lake, which is quite
hilly -even more so than about
Granville, O. A motorist we
met on the way said if we wished
to see a minature Swiss scene
to visit Devils Lake, which we
did- on a detour that took us
to south end of Lake first, which
isn't quite so attractive as the
North and which is just off Baraboo
road. Camped at foot of stony wall
shown in this photo. Our car in distance
