Description
(2) [In pencil] continued from No. 1
property. Couldn't get in the
main building and weren't so
very comfortable in the old bldg.
so, after motoring a good bit the
day of the 22nd and visiting a lot
with the dear friends who had
come nine hundred miles to
be with us for a few days, while
we had gone about five hundred
miles to see them.
Found comfortable rooms
in a private home for them up
town. Different people we
talked with said we should go to the
Indian powwow up the river a few
miles. We had seen a number
of Indian shows-mainly in Fla.
which for the most part were more
or less of a farce, but we went and
were richly rewarded. The white
chief surely knows how to stage
a show. It was simply fine from
start to finish. There were Indians
from seven states- Mi.-Neb, Okla
Kan, Iowa, Minn and California
all dressed in their wonderful
leather, head, feather etc took pickup
We really were sorry when the show was over.
