Description

Sponge fishing fleet

anchored at

the great sponge center

on west coast of Florida.

Several thousand Greeks

live in whose

business is diving for

sponges.

We saw great heaps of

sponges, of many sizes, and

quality- ready for the

sponge auction.

This we saw around Christmas

1921- but this photo was

taken there in Mch 1923

when we were going home in

the Lincoln by the Gulf

and inland roads.
