Description

Nov. 27 - 1933.

On a long stretch of desert

road there were thousands of

Yucca, or Spanish Bayonet

shrubs. In fact we saw

them growing for five or six

of the ten days, enroute to

California. This scene was

in New Mexico - just over

the west side of the "Continental

Divide.

The photographer almost

missed the big Yucca, in

trying to leave out a nearby

telephone.

When snapping this the

Pennsylvania car we had

passed twice passed us the

second time. It was bound

for Redlands.
