This scene shows a little&#13;
&#13;
section for me of the fine&#13;
&#13;
Palm orchards which are&#13;
&#13;
helping to make this one time&#13;
&#13;
desert find a place in the&#13;
&#13;
map. The wild verbena&#13;
&#13;
green rampant where there&#13;
&#13;
was no cultivating. We&#13;
&#13;
stopped in Indio and secured&#13;
&#13;
a little more food for our&#13;
&#13;
lunch which was enjoyed&#13;
&#13;
in the shade of a cottonwood&#13;
&#13;
tree (and from the running board&#13;
&#13;
of the car) near Whitewater&#13;
&#13;
on the main road. Further&#13;
&#13;
on had a puncture. This was&#13;
&#13;
Tues. One week later we were&#13;
&#13;
attending my dear Chas.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral. That afternoon&#13;
&#13;
again we had a second blowout&#13;
&#13;
several miles out of Redlands,&#13;
&#13;
where we spent the night, going&#13;
&#13;
next day Feb 24 to the Orange Show&#13;
&#13;
at Redlands. The next day (got home&#13;
&#13;
24th 7 am) Chas took the Lincoln - Mrs&#13;
&#13;
Hatchard home - came home very sick&#13;
&#13;
