Description

The Lincoln Monument in

Springfield, Ill.

One of the prettiest

we have seen. The front

door opens into the museum

which is filled with

souvenirs of that martyred

president. Abraham Lincoln,

Mrs Lincoln and other

members of the family

are buried in the read of the

museum. You look into the

mausoleum thru a wrought

iron door in the rear.

There were fresh flowers

and many everlasting ones from

various notables. One from

President Coolidge. The

monument is located in a

fine, big, open space and there

are fine trees surrounding the

roomy edifice.
